Borderline experiences challenge us. They test our mental and physical limits, especially in unfamiliar places. Imagine this: You decide to leave your home country to study abroad. You will be confronted with new people, a new culture and new places while experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions. In my book 'LOVELY USED GRUMPY COLDNESS' 10 international students from 07 nations tell stories about their daily life in Dessau and Germany.

Each room collects data about the past, the here and now and the future. The data set contains images about the use of the space and its inhabitants. They also show how the real space changes through weather, use and time. Chaning images, data and functions of the space over the course of time are reflected in my book. What makes the book visually special is that only typography was used as a design element.
